We have a little blue bird that likes to hang out in our wreath that we have outside the door on the front porch. I always freak out when i walk outside and that thing zooms past my head. Well last night it flew right into the house when i opened the door, and what followed was a hilarious sight of Johnny jumping and waving his arms to try to get the bird to go in a certain direction. It kept getting out in the kitchen, but finally after about 10 minutes he flew back out the front door! Trey was trying to help daddy, Avery was in the other room and screamed and slammed the door and Ethan was chasing the bird around yelling at it, he was excited as could be. I got a good laugh out of it while Johnny did all the chasing.:)
"
Been Wondering how i'm doing in here? Well here's a little kick and a little nudge to let you know i'm growing and doing just fine! Just swimming and developing, it's a lot of work you know." I've been feeling little things i have thought were movements this last week but haven't been completely sure but last night i was laying there with my hand on my stomach and i got a definite little kick and movement! So then i waited and waited some more but my little stinker was only giving me a little tease. I have my sonogram on Friday which we and the kids are anxiously awaiting to find out if they are going to be having a brother or a sister.
Which means it's time for the albuterol inhaler, nebulizer, singulair, flovent, benadryl, zyrtec, nasal spray, eye drops and a variety of skin creams and steroid creams. Oh the fun of springtime for Avery! She has been coughing and wheezing all day and has needed two treatments already. I have had a spot on my wrist that has been itching constantly the last month and it drives me crazy, so it's reminded me how miserable my little girl probably is when she has areas all over her body that itch horribly! It's no wonder she has some crabby days. Typical eczema is worse in the winter (so i've been told by her dermatologist) but Avery's get's so much better during the winter and then in spring and summer is aggravated by allergens. We will be looking into starting allergy shots this year. They didn't allow her to start last year because she wasn't able to do the peak-flow-meter. Hopefully that shouldn't be a problem this year and we can get the process started! They are not sure if she is going to be a good candidate for the shots becasue they worry the shots may aggravate her skin because of the eczema, so hopefully that will not be the case!
Well there was no waking up for a bottle at 5 or 6 this morning, so we have been bottle free for over 24 hrs. YAY! Hopefully the next couple of nights will go as smooth as last night! The only problem is that he does not want anything to do with his milk in his sippy cup, so i'm giving him watered down juice for now and mabye he will want his milk again once the adjustment period is over.
We are well past due of breaking Ethan from the bottle, so tonight is night #1 without a bottle. I got this Nuby cup today that has the soft spout and i'm hoping this makes it an easier transition for him at nightime. He drinks out of a regular sippy cup fine during the day but at nap and bedtime only wants his bottle, and mommy and daddy really rely on it to get him to sleep. When i put him to bed tonight he cried and wanted nothing to do with the cup, but went to sleep in about 10 minutes. The real test is going to be at 5 or 6 in the morning when he wakes up wanting a bottle, which he does just about every morning. We will see how strong and determined i am then. :) If i can get through a few days then i know he will probably forget all about his bottles (which i have put away in the cupboard). We will see how it goes...

This afternoon we went to the park in this beautiful 65 degree weather we are having! Ethan had fun going down the slide with Avery and Trey was busy gathering a pile of pinecones. We went on a little walk and watched the geese. (Ethan get's very excited to see any moving animal and growls at all of them)
At 2 am this morning i was woke up with someone tapping on my shoulder and when i opened my eyes there was Trey smiling in my face showing me that he had lost the first of his front teeth to come out. The other one was extremely loose and by lunchtime hanging in the middle of his mouth, but he wouldn't let anyone get near it! He left to go to Grandmas for the afternoon and it apparently fell out in the car on the way home. The money he has in the picture is before the tooth fairy even comes tonight so he's making out pretty good with these front teeth.
This morning i got up at 4:15 am to go get in the drive-thru line at a Mcdonalds by our house that was having a grand re-opening. The store opened at 5:00 am and the first 100 drive-thru customers and the first 100 lobby customers received a free value meal a week for a year. 52 free meals is worth getting up a little early for me:) When i got there at 4:20 the line was already quite long, there were lot's of people outside, so i decided to go for the drive-thru- which i probably had about 30 cars in front of me or so. As i'm sitting there my sister Julie drove up and got a couple of cars behind me. After gettiing through the line we went to a different parking lot and ate our food and then saw that a lot of the cars in the line had left (assuming they gave up) so we got a little greedy and decided to try it again:) and sure enough got another booklet! So 104 free value meals this year! I'd say a worthwhile morning.:) I got home about 6:30, just in time for Johnny to go to work and for me to konk out for an hr before i had to get the kids up for school.
Ethan loves to draw. We are still working on keeping it only on paper, because he likes to use the paper for a few minutes and then move on to more interesting things like the table and chairs or anything nearby that mommy wouldn't want him to draw on.
I had my ob appt. today and everything was good. The heartbeat was 160. I gained 2 lbs this last month which surprised me (i figured it would be more than that!) She told me to schedule my sonogram in 3 weeks! I can't wait to find out if we are going to have a boy or a girl! We will keep you posted... I was looking back at my old pregnancy calendar, and how i didn't start wearing maternity clothes till 24 weeks with Trey. Oh my goodness how things change with each pregnancy... :)

Actually we are all kind of snotty nosed around here, Trey, Ethan and I anyway. I finally went to the doctor today because i have been miserable with this upper repiratory stuff. Two nights of not sleeping well and one night of sleeping in the recliner upright so that i could breathe and i had had it. They gave me an antibiotic so hopefully it will work really fast! The kids were finally back to school today after a week and a day off so it was nice to get back into our routine.
Avery & Ethan spent the night with Grandma last night so it's just me and Trey today. I have been DYING to get my van cleaned out thoroughly so first thing this morning we headed out to the gas station and vacuumed and washed the van. Then we went to get some Mcdonalds breakfast. Trey is always begging for a Mcdonalds Big Breakfast so of course that's what he got. I enjoy spending one-on-one time with the kids. It's supposed to get to 60 degrees today!! I am beyond ready for spring and it looks like it's going to be nice all week! YAY! Not sure what else we are going to do today, Trey's first pick was to go fishing, but i told him that would have to be with daddy along :)
Well yesterday Ethan woke up with a fever so i guess he didn't get to sit out this bug. He is like a faucet out of his nose, fever and fussy but doesn't seem to have it as bad as Trey had so that's great! Last night he woke up at 3am and i ended up sleeping on the couch with him on my tummy the rest of the night. Trey is doing a lot better but still complains of not feeling real well. He has a nasty cough and still says his throat hurts some but is SO much better than he was and fever free. Avery is her peppy little self! I was feeling pretty cruddy yesterday and had a fever part of the day, i have a cough and congestion but i am feeling better than i was yesterday. I tried to take some pics of Ethan today but my batteries went dead and he really hasn't been in too much of a picture taking mood.:)
This is sick day 5 for Trey. The dr called yesterday and his test came back positive for influenza A. He has been drinking fluids for us pretty good but we can't get him to eat yet. He must be pretty achy because he will not walk anywhere in the house without help. His fever stayed down around 100 yesterday afternoon and evening but is back up to 102 today. Apparently the flu shot really helped Avery becasue she is acting like she feels better today and doesn't have a fever. The kids school was cancelled today due to the snow and they are out the rest of the week for conferences so i guess if they were going to get sick it was a good week to do it.
Trey is on day 4, and Avery woke up this morning with a fever. Grandma Seaba came and rescued Ethan from the sickies so that was nice, i'm really hoping that he doesn't get this junk. Trey had 105 fever yesterday morning and has stayed fairly high but today is down around 100 so i'm thinking he may be on the end of his. Avery is complaining of her head hurting but besides the fever that is all so far.
Trey is feeling really yucky. He is running a high fever pretty continuously. I took him to the dr today to make sure he didn't have strep throat since he has a sore throat but the test was negative. They did the flu test but we won't know till Monday if that is positive. If this is the flu it will be interesting to see if Avery and Ethan avoid it because they both had the flu shot (Avery get's it every yr because of her asthma and Ethan got it at his 1 yr visit). Hopefully he will get feeling better soon!
my morning in a nutshell. Ethan decided to wake up about 45 min. earlier than the other kids this morning and wanted to play basketball. I tried to give him milk in a sippy and he wanted absolutely nothing to do with it, only in a bottle. That's a battle for another day...We got Trey off to school, breakfast eaten and then bathtime for Avery and Ethan (this usually gives mommy a few min. to pick up a little around the house while they play nicely in the tub) Today Avery decided to torment her brother and make him stand by the edge and scream to get out. Avery and Ethan were all dressed, laundry put away, and the house was straightened, yay! All the was left was for mommy to have a few peaceful min. to get a shower. About half way through my shower i heard something break outside the door and then i her Avery bawling. I peak out to see Avery standing there holding her tea set plate that Ethan had broke into about 6 pieces.Avery calms down with the reassurance that daddy can fix anything with superglue. I then hear screaming again, this time i poke my head out to see Avery with blood all over her hands (ok this is where i panic a little and get a little light headed) I grab a washcloth and hold it on and see that it's a minor cut and that i'm not going to have to rush to the er with shampoo in my hair. Ethan had tried to grab a piece of the plate from her and it cut her. Amazingly i got to finish my shower and then it was lunch time... have i mentioned that the smell of hot dogs and catsup make me want to vomit, but when you are in a hurry...Got Avery off to school, Ethan fell asleep in the car on the way home and AHHH i am off to relax...
This baby's heartbeat!! This morning i gave the doppler a try again and there it was beating away. What a good sound to hear, and what a relief! I have been trying so hard not to worry but having a hard time not, and all i wanted to do was hear the little heartbeat so now i am happy as can be:) I called Avery in to listen to it and she said "can you tell if it's a girl?" I said no we will have to wait awhile longer for that. So anyway that's my excitement for the day.

We had a snack that mommy brought home from work tonight. Chips and salsa turn our whole family into vultures. Daddy and mommy don't go so far as to climb on the table though.
Nothing like some yummy brownie batter!
... that is whenever they are not fighting like cats and dogs. It is one extreme to the other. Tonight they got along pretty well besides a few minor arguments about who was going to sit where, who was going to get tucked in first and little things like that. They both came in the room tonight with their faces painted with magic marker (they were being indians) and then later Trey was a horse and giving her a ride all over the house.

Ethan watches mommy use the doppler and then he wants to do it too. I haven't heard this baby's heartbeat yet so hopefully i will one of these days soon! I am definately starting to show, so i got all my maternity clothes down the other day and washed them all. I am 12 weeks now so i am really holding out hope that this nausea is going to end soon!! This week has been the worst week so far so i'm extremely ready to feel good again! I have been fortunate that Ethan naps so well for me in the afternoon. I put him down after we take Avery to kindergarten and he sleeps for 3 hrs so that i can lay down too.

We got to decorate cupcakes again today for Avery to take to her class for her birthday. Avery put all the sprinkles on her pink cupcakes and they looked very pretty. We made a few extras last minute because she wanted to be able to take one to the principal and to the other kindergarten teacher, so she ended up having plenty to go around.
Daddy has had a little routine that he does with Ethan at bedtime for quite some time now. He used to put Ethan to sleep on his chest when he was younger. Now he puts him to bed and then after a little while of Ethan crying he goes in and cuddles with him on the floor for awhile, then puts him in bed and Ethan doesn't make a peep. (it was dark in the room when i took the picture, i couldn't believe it turned out with our camera that usually makes the pictures darker:)
Ethan has discovered Avery's dress up shoes...
I
am 9 weeks today and so far everything is going good! Nausea has kicked in full force. For a few weeks it was on and off but mostly in the afternoon. Now it is all day long. Hopefully if this pregnancy is anything like my others i only have 3 weeks left of the nausea. I laid in bed today most of the day while Johnny took care of cleaning the church for me. Nothing ever sounds good to eat but i know if i eat something i will feel better for a little while. There have been a couple times when something in particular sounds really good. The other day it was Long John Silvers (i know, nasty greasy) and today it was Arby's (we don't have an Arby's anywhere close to us), so i settled for chicken noodle soup:). My next appt is the 25th of this month so i'm hoping we are able to hear a heartbeat that day and give me peace of mind that everything is really ok. I tend to worry because of our prior problems, even though i know it is all in God's hands!
