The monkeys are all gone

Four years ago when Raegan went to get her tubes put in her ears we teased her that she was going to sleep for a bit and they were going to get the monkeys out. She lived on antibiotics for the first two years of her life with too many ear infections to count! Getting tubes put in was the best decision ever, i am pretty sure if i am remembering right that she has not been on one antibiotic since her last ear infection!! Amazing how those tiny little things can make all the difference!

Raegan came out a few months ago and said "i think i just took my tube out of my ear!" She had been scratching and had some wax on her finger and sure enough her tube as well! So, we saved it.

She had a tube check with her ENT this week and the other tube has come out as well saving us from having to have her go to sleep for them to take it out. Yay! They did say that she had significant scarring so they decided to do a hearing test because they suspected it may be affected. Not so, her hearing was perfect! Her tympanogram was a little off on one side which earned her one more visit to have that re-checked in 3 months but she has a little bit of a cold right now so they expect for that to be normal next time but want to make sure before they release her.

Also, in other doctor visit news...i had to reschedule the girl's visit with the dermatologist to later in the spring....why?? Because they are doing so well right now that i didn't even feel the visit would be useful! Amazing, because usually this time of year they are having to work us in for skin infections resulting from the eczema! Love it!!

Snow days

We have had more snow this year than we have had in a very long time! We have had 4 snow days in the last couple of weeks! John and i both had snow days from work as well since the entire city just pretty much shut down! We went out one of the days over to a popular sledding hill to sled with some cousins.

This was part of the area. Packed with sledders!

Ignore my voice at the end of this video! That was a "get up your ok, please don't cry that was fun right?!" sound from a mama

And, these were the pictures i got of Trey on our sledding day! Our fun day didn't end just quite how we planned! Trey took quite a hit in the face and hurt his neck. This guy was a chiropractor who came running over to check him out when it happened.

Since he was feeling pretty nauseated and dizzy when he turned his head we took him to get checked out. They made him lay flat until they determined that his spine was fine...freaked him out a bit! The doctor said they were having lot's of sledders come in to the er that week!

He ended up being just fine thankfully, just very sore! I am ok with that hopefully being the last time this year that we go sledding because the snow is slowly melting away and since it is March now we are crossing our fingers that Spring is almost here!!

Taking over the Drury

A couple of weeks ago we spent the weekend at a local hotel with my parents and siblings and their families. My family's favorite hotel line is the Drury Inns. We stayed in one when we all went on vacation together a few years ago and we have continued to when we all get together. They have the 5 oclock kick back (dinner) and a big hot breakfast every morning.

The first night we were there a whole bunch of us had gotten tickets to see Tim Hawkins (Christian comedian) and my parents were brave enough to stay with the 12 or so kids that didn't go. That was extremely nice of them and extremely exhausting for them i'm sure!

We all hung out in the lobby lounge area a lot...

They also have pop and popcorn every afternoon so the little girls were having a little popcorn party

The pool was a heated pool that also went outside. Kinda weird when there was snow on the ground!

Ethan and Eli hanging out in our hotel room

Avery and Maggie getting ready to laugh a lot at  Tim Hawkins

Phil and Julie, John and i, Greg and Susan and John and Melanie (who was taking the picture)
Our faces hurt by the end of the night from laughing so much!

These boys love when they can get together. They were making movies or on their ipods together most of the weekend. It was another great weekend with family! The time always goes too fast!
