Family reunion

When we went to Iowa for our family reunion a couple of weeks ago we had an exciting trip. We started out with 7 vehicles but after meeting in St Joseph for lunch and getting down the road a little bit to Maryville one vehicle had some transmission problems so we had a little time to kill while we waited for the tow truck to pick up the vehicle...

my mom took advantage of the opportunity to get some handwriting done (she writes for a company for pay)

double trouble...

after we combined into 6 vehicles we did even more van swapping than we had already done in St Joseph. greg and susan and i had these three in the back of our van and after a very boisterous leg of the trip we started bribing them to play the quiet game with the winnings being a $1. these three are very eager to earn money and in the end they each won a $1 and we had a very quiet ride to Iowa!

the reunion was at a community center that had basketball and a park so plenty of running room for the kids

avery just adored her little cousin alivia!

uncle john gave the kids some crazy merry go round rides

we all stayed in a hotel and made good use of their pool and hot tub!

raegan decided to end the trip with a bang. we had stayed up late talking (the adults) and when we finally went to bed she woke us about an hr later puking. thankfully it was a one time thing. we had blankets soaking in the bathtub overnight and this is how i put her back to sleep...

We have one more caravan trip coming with family this summer when Camp Gramma goes to Colorado later this month...

Good job writing about it Elisa. We had a great time with all the family that went with us. Thanks for coming.
Love the picture of Avery & Alivia.

That sounds so fun! Actually, one of my best childhood memories are of a vacation where the car broke down a few hours out and we had to "improvise" fun!
