Another year at the thrill park

For a couple of years in a row we bought season passes to World's of Fun. Last year we decided to take the year off and not get them so this Spring the kids were pretty pumped to be able to get passes again.
As soon as we started talking about it Ethan had me measure him to see if he would be tall enough to ride the Mamba. He has wanted to ride that thing for soo long!
But, he still isn't too big for some Camp Snoopy lovin...

I love this picture because Ethan has a little blue blankie that he has loved to shreds (literally)! For family that has seen it...He just put it up on the shelf this past weekend and has claimed another blanket to sleep with with some convincing from Daddy!

Daddy spun them till i think they all felt like throwing up! This is why i do not ride this ride nor any other spinning ride at the park!

And then it was time for the big ride! Mommy got the honors of going on his first ride with him! Let me tell you, i wish i could have had a video of him riding it! He screamed at the top of his lungs "This is Awesome!" the whole time! It was proven right then and there that he is another thrill seeker!

This picture depicts his excitement ...

So, another summer of thrill seeking rides has begun. The older i get, the less i can handle the rides and all the motion! Although i did ride the front seat of the Mamba last night and screamed my head off feeling like i was going to fly right out of the ride!

For vacation this year we plan to head to Ohio to ride some even bigger rides at King's Island and Cedar Point so i better get my game face on!

Middle school track

Trey and Avery both ran track this Spring. Spring? Did we have a Spring? It was a pretty chilly track season! The poor 6th graders had a heck of a time getting their meets. They had their first one and then the next 2 were canceled. They were able to make up one of them but not the other. They did get lots of practice time in though!

Avery started out running the mile and the 800 but decided she did not like the mile so much!

Trey ran the mile and the 800. He and Austin went back and forth in who would beat each other. Trey would usually beat him at the mile and Austin would beat Trey at the 800.

This was the coldest meet of the season! Miserable, rainy cold! I felt so bad for the kids! By the end of the meet kids were running in their hoodies!

Here is Trey and Austin racing it out again!

Avery ended up doing the 100 meter dash which she really liked so next year i'm betting she will be doing some of the sprinting distances.

Trey made it to the city meet this year but as an alternate. (They take 2 runners and one alternate) His fastest mile time he got down to 5:50. The kid he trained with and who one every meet was from his school and won city with a 4:54!! Yea, amazing for 8th grade i would say!

After a cold track season the day of the city meet was sunny and warm! If i only had pictures of all the kids and their sunburns that they were posting on Instagram. Needless to say No one used enough if any sunscreen including this Mama!

Avery also did a really which she really enjoyed too!

They both did a great job and worked very hard. Trey really pushed himself this year and i can tell the whole pacing thing is clicking with him! Trey is going to go to the high school cross country camp this summer and plans to run cross country, track and possibly try out swimming next year for high school. High school?? How can that possibly be??

Tumbling

Avery has been taking tumbling for the past couple of years. She switched to gymnastics for about 6 months of that time but soon decided that it was the tumbling part of it that she enjoyed so went back to tumbling. She just recently passed to advanced tumbling so will be starting in the advanced class this summer.

She is always out flipping around on the trampoline. This was one of the last things she mastered...i can't remember what it is called but she has to do it without her hands and that is what she had the most trouble with, but she got it!

I am so behind on blogging and would probably just give up if it wasn't for the fact that this is my kids future "scrapbook". So, that alone keeps me plugging along. Since i am a list person, i at least made a list today of the blogs i need to do to catch up...that is a step in the right direction, ha!

Just give a girl a lemon

I find so much on my phone, which means my kids have a hold of my phone way too much if you ask my husband!  But...the plus side is i find fun pictures and videos all the time. I do a lot of erasing but there are always ones that will be saved.

I loved this little series of pictures...i don't even know who took them since i see Ethan in one of them! Avery must have been in on the action this particular day.

This girl is so to grab the lemon from my water anytime i have one. She loves them!

The hunt

John's Mom made a yummy Easter meal and then there was the egg hunt...

Trey and Avery still hunt eggs but this is a 14 year old for ya...

We of course gave the little ones a bit of a head start since these big kids are a bit speedy...

Ethan was clearly happy with the loot he was finding!

We had beautiful weather for Easter this year which was a nice surprise since we are having quite the crazy spring this year...Today is May 2nd and it is supposed to snow tonight...what?!
