Christmas At Seaba's

We spent Christmas day at Grandpa and Grandma Seaba's house. Johnny's brother Rodney has been in Iraq for over a year so it was nice that everyone was home and together this year. Our Christmas night tradition is for all of us go to a movie. We went and saw "Night at the Museum". I was worried about how Ethan would do this year but he fell asleep on the way to the movie and slept through about a half hr of it and then sat on my lap and just stared at the screen the rest of the movie. He was such a good boy!!

One More Blessing!

Yes, if everything goes well, we will be having a new addition to our family in August. We shared the news with family over Christmas by Ethan wearing his shirt we made him. Trey and Avery are thrilled and Avery reminds me every day that we need to be praying that it's a girl. Trey actually wants a girl too because he said "it would be fair then". Trey and Avery are 24 months apart and Ethan and this one will be 22 months apart, so almost the same. We are very happy and excited that God has blessed us with another pregnancy, and praying that everything goes well with this pregnancy!

Christmas Morning At Home

We opened presents and stockings at home Christmas morning. Trey got a Bible with his name engraved on it. He has been borrowing mommy's Bible to take to sunday school because he doesn't want to take his "baby Bible". Avery got a ballet outfit and said santa was pretty smart becasue she has a ballet birthday party the day after Christmas and now had a new outfit to wear. We got Ethan a set of nerf balls which he immediately took a big bite out of the football. He got a little people airplane that he loved.

Christmas In Hutchinson

We just got back late this evening from Hutchinson where we spent the weekend and celebrated Christmas today. The grandkids sang in church this morning, we had a full kids choir and were even missing a few. We had 39 people at dinner this evening so it was an extremely full house! The cousins had a blast together as always. They played lots of games. Trey and Avery learned how to play monopoly from their older cousins. Ethan had a bit of a rough weekend. He was very fussy the first couple of days. He is still not feeling totally better. He has two teeth coming in too so i'm sure that doesn't help matters. He didn't get a good nap today so he was asleep in the carseat before we even got out of Hutch tonight. The kids are asleep in the living room waiting for it to be Christmas morning....

Special Gifts

Treyand Avery both brought gifts home from school for daddy and i and COULD NOT wait till Christmas for us to open them. Trey was so excited when i was opening it, saying "you are going to love it mommy!" "i worked so hard on it". And he was right, i absolutely loved it. It's a clay candlestick that he made and painted in art class. I will treasure it always! Avery gave us a calendar that she made at school, with a piece of her artwork for each months picture. Very special gifts from our two sweeties!

Sick Boy

We have been hit by the sick bug again and this time it's Ethan. He woke up this morning with a fever and cough and has had a 102 fever on and off all day. I went in to check on him at 11 and he was just laying there in his crib. He was burning up again so i got him up and gave him some motrin and tried to get him to drink something. He pushes the cup away and pushes his bottle away (which tells me he's feeling really crummy cause he loves his bottle). I got him to eat some jello finally. Poor little guy is very lethargic, he just wants to be cuddled. Hopefully the we are rid of the sick bug by Christmas!

Ready For The Big Books

Trey begged me to order the book "Eragon" from his weekly scholastic book order at school, so i did and he got it yesterday. I couldn't tell in the magazine that it was a 500 page book! He has been reading ever since, he has his bookmark and pencil to mark where he leaves off the time before. He struggled in kindergarten and his teacher tutored him after school, so we were worried that he was going to struggle through school, but he has taken off and doing great. He does struggle with math (i think he has his mother's math brain), so daddy does all the math homework with him and mommy does the spelling and reading. He is on page 23 in his big book, so he has lot's of reading to do!

Growth Wall

We started measuring the kids height on one of the door jams in our house back in 2001. It was measuring night tonight. The kids love when they get to see how much they have grown. It's fun comparing Ethan to how tall Trey and Avery were at his age. So far he is taller that either one of them were at his age, but not by too much.

Keeping Warm

Ethan has gotten very used to getting bundled up three times a day to go back and forth to school. The first hat i got him he HATED and would figure out a way to get it off. This hat he doesn't mind at all and never tries to take it off even in the van.

Fun In The Snow

We had some "technical difficulties" with our computer so i am a little slow getting on our snow day pictures. The kids were out of school on Thursday and Friday because of the weather. We haven't sent Ethan out in the snow yet. The closest he has gotten is the back porch, when we are getting snow for our "snow slushes". He doesn't know what to think of it, but he likes eating it.

Snowy Day

Ethan gets in trouble after hitting his sister
The kids entertained themselves today playing drums with all of the pans
Tickle our bellies Ethan
A good day for hot chocolate
I tried to take a picture of our snowfall today but it was too dark by the time i tried. School was cancelled for the kids so the kids and i went to Pizza Hut and used their Book It coupons for free pizza. we came back home to kill an hr before heading to see the ent for Trey's appt. The snow was coming down really heavy and i almost turned around and came home but decided to keep going. I had to stop on a side street to clean the ice off my windshield wipers becasue i couldn't see anything at all. It was not a fun drive, but so much better once i could actually see!!
The dr said that it would be beneficial for us to have his tonsils out and would definetely cut out all these strep infections.I do not like him being on round after round of antibiotic. He said if you have strep 2-3 times per yr for 2 yrs in a row, or 5 times in one yr. that is when they say to go ahead with having the tonsils out and since he has had it 7 times this yr and probably about the same last yr. he met the criteria. He left it up to us when and if to do it. We are deciding if we should do it over Christmas break or if we should wait till spring break or even summer.
After getting home from the appt. I couldn't get the van in the driveway (after trying about 5 times) so i parked on the street and walked up to see if i could get a shovel. I changed my mind and went back to the van and bit the dust landing on my hind end! The nice thing was that my two darling children were laughing their little heads off when i dragged myself off the ground and back to the van. Trey had wiped out earlier when we were out for pizza so he said "i know it hurts doesn't it mommy, now you know how i felt" The most embarrasing part was that my neighbor witnessed my graceful slide and came out to make sure i was ok. Nice, but embarrasing:)!

Decorating The Tree

Tonight we put the Christmas tree up. We got all the branches on and one strand of lights on and then realized that our other two strands of lights did not work, so Johnny had to make a quick trip to Target to pick up some more lights. Ethan took the bulbs off as fast as we could hang them, half of our bulbs are plastic (thank goodness) so those are all on the bottom of the tree!! It's going to be an interesting month keeping this tree in one piece!

Sleepy Boy

"Lunch can really wear a guy out!" The thing i love about this picture is that i have a picture of Trey at about the same age as Ethan is, sacked out in that very same highchair at Grandma's house.

Strep AGAIN!

I got to school with Avery today at 12:30 and Avery's teacher came out and said "your son is in the nurse's office sick". He had puked right before lunch and had a fever and sore throat. They had been trying to call me for an hr but i had forgotten to give the school my new cell # (oops). They kept getting a busy signal on my old phone and Trey told them "she does talk on the phone alot, sometimes 3 hrs at a time" "she's probably at Target". :) I took him to the dr this afternoon and sure enough, strep again. He just finished antibiotic last week for strep and now we start again! The dr referred us to an ENT to consult about having his tonsils out since this is the 7th time of strep for him this year. The doc said it's time to probably do something about it. Trey wants nothing to do with the thought of having his tonsils out and breaks into tears even talking about it. We go see the ENT on Thursday. No school for Trey tommorow.

Thanksgiving Day

We went to Hutchinson for Thanksgiving. After stuffing ourselves with turkey we went outside and enjoyed the beautiful warm weather! Trey and Avery pretty much dissappear for the whole weekend playing with their cousins, and Ethan's big goal for the weekend was to escape out any open door that led outside! The guys went to a shooting range on Friday morning and then the girls took off shopping in the afternoon. We had a fun weekend.

So Thankful!

Tonight when i came home from work i went in and checked on each of the kids sound asleep in their beds. I kissed their cheeks and re-tucked them in and stopped and thanked God for our three beautiful children! We are so blessed. I never feel like i take the blessing of them for granted, but i'm sure i probably don't thank God enough! Trey... my soft-hearted, sensitive, creative, loving, silly boy. Avery... my feisty, outgoing, yet shy at times, creative and very loving little princess. Ethan...what a journey we went on before we were blessed with him... he's my loving, cuddly, silly, absolute answer to prayer! And i can't leave out our three angel babies in Heaven, a very real part of our journey... Yes i'm sappy tonight, and someday when the kids read this they may think so too, but they will also know how much their mommy loves them and how thankful i am to be their mommy!!
