Kindergarten prep

I admit i have slacked in teaching all things preschool to my youngest. We have been doing some crash courses in all things letters and numbers the last few weeks. I'm just looking at the positives in that she will not be one bit bored in kindergarten!

Avery has "played school" with her several times to help nail down some of the things that she should be able to do.

On another subject she looks so tiny with her big back pack. School supplies are all bought and in the kids back packs, kids are all enrolled, school clothes have been bought, (we have spent a small fortune between all of those) school and sports physicals are all scheduled to be knocked out next week. We are ready to roll!

We are off to the pool! There are not too many days left!

Reading machines

These two are reading machines! John is on his second Hunger Games book that he reads on his ipad. Avery started started reading the first book on his ipad yesterday and he decided he didn't want to share so took her to the store and bought her the first book. This is how i find these two every evening until they are too tired to stay awake. 

Sliding without the life jacket

I had one extremely excited little girl when i finally convinced her to try the white slide at the pool we go to without her life jacket and without me catching her. I wish i had taken video of her excitement that first time down. I told her i would be there but wasn't going to catch her and she could see if she went under.

Hours later her new favorite past time at the pool is going down over and over again. I think this picture captures a little excitement of her new freedom...
